It is very effective and efficient in lighting the coals for cooking with charcoal. I like the fact that there are no accelerant smells transmitted to my meal.
Two lighters were ordered as gifts...
Have only used it a couple times but initial usage is positive.. No chemical smells and far quicker to light the charcoal than a bbq chimney. Only negative was that it seemed to take slightly longer than expected, approx 10 minutes, to get a small charcoal fire going.

This is the second one I’ve had. My wife bought me one five years ago and it was absolutely amazing. It eventually died after a great deal of use so I replaced it with the same model. Had it now a month and it does the job perfectly.

Love the speed and the control when lighting the BBQ. Only thing that could improve is the on button. It is recessed in the case and somewhat uncomfortable to hold down.
